Roald Dahl: Lamb to the slaughter

After the policemen ate the rest of the lamb, they tried there luck in the living room.
They still search for the weapon. A few hours later, the policemen still hasn't any evidence.
“ We are sorry Mrs. Meloney but we think the murderer put the weapon with him or herself. But tomorrow we search again and I'm sure he left a evidence”
In the evening Mrs Meloney sat on a chair and was thinking about the things, which she done. She is a murderer. A real murderer. She killed her men. At this night, Mrs Meloney couldn't sleep. Suddenly she had the feeling of guilt. She couldn't believe that she really done it.
On the next morning Mrs Meloney was up early, because she was awake the whole night. She went outside and bought the newspaper.
On the title page was a photo of her dead men with the headline “ Who killed him?”. She was shocked, burst the newspaper and put it in the rubbish.
Mrs Meloney went outside to the next supermarket. She searched something special. She bought some potatoes, a can of peas and a leg of lamb. At home Mrs Meloney put he lamb in the deep freeze. Then she sat again in the living room. Any time she fall a sleep. A few hours later, she woke up and went to the deep freeze. She put the leg of lamb and went to the kitchen.
On the next morning the policemen Jack went to Mrs Meloneys place, he knocked a few times but nobody opened the door. He went around the house and saw that one window was open. He got in the house and found Mrs Meloney. Mrs Meloney was dead. Next to her was a leg of lamb and a little note “ The feeling of guilt was too big”
