Ich muss eine Erörterung in Englisch verfassen. Bin soweit fertig (denke ich mal)

Ich würd gerne mal eure Kritik hören und ggf verbesserungen annehmen

Should the legal drinking age be increased?
In the past there were many discussions about this topic. Also in Germany many politicians and parents wanted that the legal drinking age should be increased. Finally the politicians decided to raise up the legal drinking age of beer to 18.
But is this really needed?
Nowadays many youngsters and even children are trying out the feeling of being drunk.
In most of the cases their parents don’t know about what their children are doing when they meet their friends.
There are a few facts which support the question and some which don’t support it.

One fact is that the violence rate would decrease enormously. The most youngsters cannot control themselves when they are drunk. They get aggressive very fast and also just one little mistake would make them violent. You can see it in the news. There are very often stories about youngsters who are drinking alcohol in discos and then searching trouble. ”Just for fun” as they say.
Another fact is that also that the accident rate caused by abuse of alcohol would decrease. Very often youngsters are trying out their limits by making drinking battles. The winner of these battles is getting respect from their friends. But getting respect is nothing in comparison with the risk that someone is doing by drinking himself into death.
There is one example: It was a day in 2007 when a 16 year old boy went out with his friends to drink alcohol. He had drunk 50 shots Tequila before he passed out. After four weeks in a hospital he died.
It’s something like a trend which is called binge drinking and it should be stopped by the politicians very fast.
But this is harder than it looks like.
If the age would be raised up in example to 21 then there would be are very heavy loose of taxes for Germany because the most youngsters are drinking alcohol. Every bottle makes the government richer.
And also the global financial crisis is making such a decision very impossible. Everyone needs money at the time. Also governments and alcohol labels. Otherwise they would ruin themselves. Some people would say now that the government is playing with the life of their children but this is not true. They already made some steps in example they raised up the legal drinking age for beer to 18.

In my opinion the legal drinking age should stay at 18. Because when you are 18 you should have the control about yourself and you should be also old enough to make you own decisions. It is your decision whether you drink or not. And everyone should decide it for himself.

Also wie ich das sehe, bist du im Prinzip für eine Erhöhung des Mindestalter, aber nicht höher als 18? Du solltest etwas deutlicher machen, wofür die Fakten sprechen, die du aufzählst (ja, man kann es sich denken, aber Lehrer sind faul )

But gaining respect is nothing in comparison with the risk that someone takes by drinking himself into death.
Sinnvoller wäre hier: ...the risk that one takes when drinking himself into coma: This can have fatal (tödliche) consequences.
