Hallo ich muss in Englisch einen Vortrag halten über das Amerikanische Schulsystem. Bin aber nicht so gut in Englisch wäre nett wenn sich mal jemand den Text durchlesen könnte, es geht mir hauptsächlich um den Satzbau & fehler die beim vortragen auffallen können wie z.B falsche wörter oder so, also keine grammatik. Ich weiß der der Text ist etwas länger :O wäre mega nett wenn sich trotzdem jemand die zeit nimmt & mir die schlimmsten fehler sagen kann die am meisten auffallen

The theme of my presentation is the american school system. Especially the High School.
The school is divided into Primary and Secondary Education.
The children come with 5 / 6 years in the Primary School, she is also called Elementary School. Usally the Primary School goes up to the 5 or 6 class. It depends on the school district to wich class the primary school goes. If there is no middle school in a school district, the primary school goes up to the 8 class. In a class are usally 18 students, the teacher will be supported by an Teacher Assistant. The students usally have 6 lessons and a school day often not ends before 15 clock. After the Primary school begins the Secondary School. The Secondary School is divided into the Middle School and the High School. The middle school usually goes from the 5 to the 8 class. This also depends on the school district. The high School begins from the 9 class and goes up to the 12 class.
Total the high school lasts 4 years. The high school can be compared with a German comprehensive school. The high school is a all-day school with a course system and without classes. (So, there are no groups of students they have regular lessons together). There are no homeroom teachers, there are only Guidance Counselors, they look after the students and manage they.
The high school is completed with a high school diploma.
Compulsory courses must be take and there a elective subjects. What degree students get depends on what courses they take. ( There are simple,advanced and heavy courses) Students must take in one Semester between 5 and 7 courses.
American Students usally spend the whole day at their school.
The teaching goes into the afternoon and then be extracurricular activities offered. For example sports and clubs.
Students get a especially name for each grade.
Neuntklässler called freshmen
Zehntklässler called sophomores
elftklässler called juniors
zwölftklässler called seniors

I would like to tell you something about...... Especially....(deshalb, weil es sich innerlich etwas intressanter anhört, als "the theme..")


formuliere ihn lieber so.
The kids, go to the primary school, with the age 5/6. The primary school is also called the elementary school(children=sind die Kinder, von einen Elternteil: you are the child of youre parents.)



- Usually the primary school has only 5 to six classes.
oder: Usually the primary school goes until to the fifth or sixth class. (wäre hier besser)

ich mache weiter, aber davor musst du mir sagen, in welcher klasse du bist, weil wenn du jetzt in der fünften bist, dann darfst du nicht viele Fremdwörter benutzen... (ich muss schauen, dass die Sätze auch deine Mitschüler verstehen,... weil wenn du da was redest und keiner kiregt was mit, dann kriegst du keine gute Note.)

# Kids solltest du nur in der Umgangssprache nutzen, man hört es zwar heute überall, aber in korrektem Schriftenglisch gilt immer noch "children" - damit bist du auf der sicheren Seite.
# "primary school" ohne Artikel als kein "the"
# "at the age of 5/6"
# auch "elementary school" ohne Artikel


# Beide Varianten gehen nicht!
# "class" wird meistens im Sinne von "Unterrichtsfach", "Unterrichtsstunde" oder "Kurs" verwendet, besonders wenn du über Schule in den USA redest - in England wäre "class" etwas gebräuchlicher. Das Wort das du suchst ist "grade"
-> Usually primary school only consists of 5-6 grades


So nun zu deinem ursprünglichen Text:

# "High School" ohne Artikel


# "up to which grade" statt "to which class"


# 8th grade


# "there are usually"
# statt "teacher assistant" könnte man auch "teaching assistant" sagen, aber ich denke nicht, dass es wirklich falsch wäre, höchstens unüblicher


# "usually" -> auf Schreibung achten
# "does not end" statt "not ends"
# entweder "3 o'clock" oder "15.00"


# "begins" an das Ende des Satzes setzen


# die Schultitel ohne Artikel


# besser: "begins with the 5th grade and ends with the 8th grade"


# "begins with" oder "begins in" aber nicht "from"
# "class" wieder mit "grade" tauschen


# "In total"
# "to last" kann hier falsch verstanden werden, daher besser "In total you attend High School for 4 years"


# "manage" passt hier nicht, besser: "and they support them"


# "must be taken"
# "there are also elective..."


# Der Ausdruck heißt "to earn a degree", also "What degree students earn depends on..."
# Das Zeitverhältnis in dem Satz stimmt nicht, die eine Handlung liegt ja zeitlich vor der anderen, daher "what courses they had taken"


# "must" ist zu stark, das verwendet man nur bei bestimmten Ausdrücken, daher besser "have to"
# "in one term" besser als "semester" außer der Begriff sei vorgegeben. Und dieser Teil muss an das Ende des Satzes


# "then extracurricular activities are offered"


So schlecht wars doch jetzt garnicht. Nur Mut in Zukunft!
